Our Policies

Immunization & License Requirement:

All pets must have the required and necessary immunizations before Hometown Hounds, LLC. begins service. Your pet must also be properly licensed as required by local ordinances and health codes.

Payments & Fees:

Hometown Hounds, LLC. accepts payments in the form of cash and checks made out to the company. Payments for regular dog walking and cat sitting are due on last day of service of each week that your pet is cared for. Payments for vacation pet care are due in full before a customer leaves for vacation. There will be a $30.00 fee imposed for bounced checks. Customers are responsible for all costs associated with the collection of past due balances and any and all fees.

Inclement Weather:

You entrust Hometown Hounds, LLC to use our best judgment in caring for your pet(s) during inclement weather. We reserve the right to call a nearby emergency contact in case of a serious problem with accessing your pet(s), such as a severely iced driveway or non-plowed snow driveways and/or walkways. Every effort will be made to reach your home, but the service schedule may be changed, interrupted, or altered. If it is not possible to reach your home safely, your closest emergency contact will be notified. You will be notified directly by Hometown Hounds, LLC that a contingency plan has been activated.

Medications:

Hometown Hounds, LLC. will attempt to administer all medications as directed by the primary caregiver, but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. If there is a fear that an animal will react negatively to the administration of a medication (with biting, severely scratching or clawing), Hometown Hounds, LLC. reserves the right to not administer the medication and we will inform you directly of such as soon as possible.

Holidays, Weekends and Late Night Visits:

Hometown Hounds, LLC reserves the right to charge $60.00 per each 30 to 40 minute Walk and Play Session on all New York Stock Exchange Holidays and Holiday Weekends including Easter Weekend. Dates that fall around said Holidays are also considered prime days and will be subjected to increased rates of up to $60.00 per visit. Normal weekend Walk and Play Sessions, as well as Monday through Friday Walk and Play Sessions, that occur at 10:00 PM or later will be an additional $5.00 more per Session. Walk and Play Sessions that occur after 12:00 AM Midnight or before 7:00 AM, will each be an additional $10.00 per Session regardless of whether they are during the week or on a weekend.

Hometown Hounds’ Holidays with Increased Rates:

New Year’s Eve Includes: December 31, January 1st and January 2nd
President’s Weekend Includes: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Easter Weekend Includes: Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Monday
Memorial Day Weekend Includes: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
Fourth of July Weekend Includes: July 3rd, July 4th and July 5th
Labor Day Weekend Includes: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
Columbus Day Includes: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Christmas Includes: December 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th

Photographs and Publicity:

As a customer of Hometown Hounds, LLC., you have verbally granted permission and agreed for us to use our images of your pet(s) on our website, on our Facebook page, Instagram, and any other social media sites and in Hometown Hounds, LLC.'s advertising.

Last Minute Cancellation:

Hometown Hounds, LLC reserves the right to charge customers a Cancellation Fee equivalent to one Walk and Play Session Fee that client is charged for their pet(s) for a last minute cancellation within six (6) hours of said visit from Hometown Hounds, LLC. Vacation Pet Cancellations will be guided by the terms of their contract.

Minimum Visits for Vacation Pets:

Hometown Hounds, LLC reserves the right to set a minimum vacation protocol of no less than three (3) visits per day for a canine and one (1) visit per day for a feline, rabbit, bird, ferret, fish and/or hamster. Hometown Hounds, LLC will not take on a customer requesting less than the specified amount of visits when the customer is away on vacation as we feel it is not in the best interests of the pet(s).
